Yesterday we told you about the latest Xbox and PlayStation controllers, well… the next mac OS Big Sur will provide support for both of them. However, this is not the only new feature that the new mac will offer to its customers.

Few days ago Apple released its latest update for Mac Big Sur with improved Bluetooth reliability and a handful of bug fixes. The first beta of mac OS Big Sur will bring further refinements to Safari, Apple Music, News, Photos, Maps, Reminders, Messages, Weather, and Voice Memo.

The new expanded menu and customised control center will consolidate our favorite menu bar items into a single place and will give us instant access to the controls we use most without going to the System preferences. The Notification center will be also updated with customized, redesigned, and third-party widgets, and with grouped and interactive notifications. The Self-reported privacy practices will be displayed in a simple format with additional privacy information on the App Store. The new mac OS Big Sur will provide faster software updates so that we can keep our Mac more up-to-date and secured than ever before. Big Sur also introduces a new cryptographically signed system volume that protects against malicious tampering.

Extra features like Automatic device switching will be also available. For example we can now automatically switch our AirPods between our iPhone, iPad, and Mac paired to the same iCloud account. An improved and optimized battery charging is designed to reduce the wear of our battery and improve its lifespan. A Battery usage history will also be available. It will display graphs of battery level and usage for the past 24 hours and the past 10 days.

The new visual status at the top of the Home app will give us a summary of accessories that require our attention, and have important status changes to share. The will be an adaptive lighting for smart light bulbs that will ease the monitoring. With the help of the face recognition for video cameras and doorbells now we will be able to easily tag people, and choose to be notified based on the person.

Last but definitely not least, our beloved Siri will now be able to help us find answers to a broader set of questions using information from all across the web.

Who is excited to try the new mac OS Big Sur? We are definitely ready, so…

Hey Apple, we are here, do you mind sending us some late Christmas presents?
