Yesterday, December 9, The Game Awards took place in Los Angeles, where the winner of the evening was It Takes Two. Also, the game won Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer.

Other games which performed well were Deathloop (winning Best Game Direction and Best Art Direction), and Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 5 (winning Best Audio Design, Best Sports/Racing, and Best Innovation in Accessibility).

Who are the other winners? 

Among other categories, Final Fantasy XIV Online won the prize for Best Ongoing, where nominated were Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, and Genshin Impact.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits won the Best Indie and Best Debut Indie awards, where 12 Minutes, Death’s Door, Inscryption, and Loop Hero were nominated for winning the prize.

Deathloop, It Takes Two, Life is Strange: True Colors, and Psychonauts 2, were on the list for potential winners of the prize, but Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy won the Best Narrative award.

The Best Score and Music award went to NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139, vanquishing

Cyberpunk 2077, Deathloop, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Artful Escape

For Best Performance were fighting Erika Mori as Alex Chen, Life is Strange: True Colors; Giancarlo Esposito as Anton Castillo, Far Cry 6; Jason E. Kelley as Colt Vahn, Deathloop, and Ozioma Akagha as Julianna Blake, Deathloop, but the winner was Maggie Robertson as Lady Dimitrescu, Resident Evil Village

If you are wondering who won the Games for Impact award, Life is Strange: True Colors is the one who took it home. The other games which were nominated were Before Your Eyes, Boyfriend Dungeon, Chicory, and No Longer Home

Final Fantasy XIV Online won the Best Community Support award, chosen among Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Fortnite, and No Man’s Sky

Genshin Impact took home the Best Mobile Game award, where Fantasian, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Marvel Future Revolution, and Pokemon Unite were nominated.

The winner of the Best VR/AR award was Resident Evil 4, where nominated were Hitman 3,

I Expect You To Die 2, Lone Echo II, and Sniper Elite VR

As for the Best Action award, the one who won this category was Returnal. Other nominated games were Back 4 Blood, Chivalry II, Deathloop, and Far Cry 6.

The Best Action/Adventure award nominated was Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,  Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village, but the actual winner was Metroid Dread.

Tales of Arise won the Best Role-Playing award, where nominated were Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Rise, Scarlet Nexus, and Shin Megami Tensei V

For Best Fighting nominated were Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, but the one who won was Guilty Gear -Strive- .

Which was the winner for Best Sim/Strategy? It is the Age of Empires IV, overcoming Evil Genius 2: World Domination, Humankind, Inscryption, and Microsoft Flight Simulator

The Most Anticipated Game award went to Elden Ring, where God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Starfield were nominated.

You may be wondering who is the Content Creator of the Year.

Among Fuslie, Gaules, Ibai, and TheGrefg, the actual winner is Dream.

League of Legends took home the prize for Best Esports Game, where Call of Duty, CS: GO, DOTA2, and Valorant were only nominees.

As for the Best Esports Athlete, the winner was Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, chosen among Chris “Simp” Lehr, Heo “ShowMaker” Su, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov, and Tyson “TenZ” Ngo.

The winner of the Best Esports Team was Natus Vincere (CS: GO), and Atlanta FaZe, (COD), DWG KIA (LOL), Sentinels (Valorant), and Team Spirit (DOTA2) were nominees.

Best Esports Coach was Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun, chosen among Airat “Silent” Gaziev, Andrey “ENGH” Sholokhov, Andrii “B1ad3” Horodenskyi, James “Crowder” Crowder

Last but not least, the winner of the Best Esports Event award was 2021 League of Legends.  World Championship, PGL Major Stockholm 2021, PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2020, The International 2021, and Valorant Champions Tour: Stage 2 Masters were nominees.
