The second PlayStation 5 system software beta launches today. The version will provide some features also available to PS4 users.

Sony has revealed the new enhancements included in the PlayStation 5’s second system software beta trial.

The update includes a new party chat options available for both PS5 and PS4 systems. Customers will be now able to choose between an open or closed party. In fact, an open party allows friends to join without an invite, whereas a closed party is only for invited players. Additional features will also be available, such as a visual indicator to assist voice chat reporting and the ability to launch Share Play straight from the voice chat card.

The Game Base menu is now divided into three tabs: Friends, Parties and Messages.

User interface enhancements include the welcome option to filter games by genre. Home screens can display up to 14 titles, five of which can be pinned using the new Keep in Home feature.

Six new languages get Screen Reader support– Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, and Korean, and headphone sound output can be set to mono. UK and US beta participants can preview the system’s new suite of voice command features.
