“Today’s launch of code-native integrations is part of our deep commitment to provide the most versatile and developer-friendly embedded iPaaS on the market,” wrote Marcus Edgington, vice president of products at Prismatic, in a blog post.

With this update, developers will be able to write code from their preferred development environment, and many options can now be configured directly in the code, such as triggers, bindings, integration logic, and client configuration experience.

“At Prismatic, we believe that any integration solution for B2B SaaS needs to be extremely flexible to keep pace with the huge variety of integrations, all the teams involved in delivering them, and the ways in which the integration strategy can evolve,” Marcus Edgington further wrote in a blog post.

According to Prismatic, one of the benefits of this update is that developers can now define their own integration logic, rather than just choosing from predefined logic steps. Another benefit is the ability to quickly add integrations to CI/CD platforms and code repositories.

CircleCI Releases New Developer Version Control Feature https://devstyler.io/blog/2024/03/18/circleci-releases-new-developer-version-control-feature/ Mon, 18 Mar 2024 12:31:22 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=119932 ...]]> CircleCI has announced a new feature that will allow developers to automate version control processes directly from the CircleCI user interface.

“If you look at every other deploy and release vendor on the market, they’re built to service centralized release and operations teams who want tighter control over deploys. But this doesn’t reflect the reality of elite software teams who depend on developers to drive and deliver fast innovation. Our approach to CircleCI releases provides a developer-centric workflow that enables them to ship faster and monitor new features in production coupled with the safety net of quickly rolling back releases if something goes wrong”, said Rob Zuber, CTO of CircleCI.

According to the company, the main advantage of this new feature is that it can give developers more confidence in creating releases, as well as reduce the average time to fix issues.

With ongoing Kubernetes and Amazon SageMaker support, developers now have comprehensive visibility into their production deployments and access to rollback commands (e.g., version recovery, component scaling, and component restart).

Some of the key capabilities that will emerge with CircleCI releases include the ability to link CI/CD to customer experiences, real-time service validation, performance degradation prevention, and more.

The Release Dashboard shows a release history for all components with details for each, a list of release environments, and a list of components and associated projects.

Google Changes Search Results, Complies with EU Technology Rules https://devstyler.io/blog/2024/01/18/google-changes-search-results-complies-with-eu-technology-rules/ Thu, 18 Jan 2024 09:51:42 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=117743 ...]]> Google will change online search results to give more priority to comparison sites, Reuters reports. In a blog post, Google made clear its intentions to comply with new EU technology rules that could affect some companies’ revenues.

Under the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which the company must comply with by March 7, Google is required to treat competing services and products the same as its own when ranking them in search results.

“We will introduce dedicated units that include a group of links to comparison sites from across the web, and query shortcuts at the top of the search page to help people refine their search, including by focusing results just on comparison sites,” Google said in its blog post.

Competing comparison sites are the biggest critics of Google’s search policy. A few years ago, the company paid a €2.42 billion fine for breaking EU antitrust rules.

“For categories like hotels, we will also start testing a dedicated space for comparison sites and direct suppliers to show more detailed individual results including images, star ratings and more. These changes will result in the removal of some features from the search page, such as the Google Flights unit,” it said.

In the upcoming weeks, Android users will experience various updates that facilitate seamless transitions between default search engines or browsers on their phones. Additionally, individuals utilizing Google services and products will have the option to transfer their data to a third-party application or service.

The TOP Skills That Make HR Managers Successful https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/10/03/the-top-skills-that-make-hr-managers-successful/ Tue, 03 Oct 2023 06:16:24 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=111760 ...]]> What are the skills that make an HR manager successful?

Human Resource Managers or HR Managers play a key role in all areas from technology to lifestyle. Employees are the most valuable “assets” of any organization and it is the people who contribute to its success, and successfully implement projects.

HR Managers are the ones who ensure that the “human” capital of the company is used effectively to achieve organizational goals.

And although on the surface this role looks sweet and easy, the truth is far from it. The responsibility that HR Managers have is tied not only to the success of the company, but also to the well-being of each and every employee. Because in order to be productive, an employee must not go into a burnout, must feel calm and balanced and above all try to differentiate between personal and professional life and not let problems at home affect his work and vice versa.

HR managers not only need to know the company’s business well, but also know what each employee is capable of, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and how they can “bring out” the potential and productivity of everyone in the company. The drive for continuous improvement, the ability to earn people’s trust with ease, business ethics and responsibility are just some of the skills that would make any HR manager an employee favorite. Today we will introduce you to the TOP qualities that make a successful HR Manager that TravelPerk shares with us.

The TOP Skills That Make HR Managers Successful

Communication skills
People in this position need good communication skills – both oral and written. Communication skills are needed not only to convey information effectively, but also to interact with different people and business partners. It is customary for HR Managers to easily build and maintain relationships with employees. To take a genuine interest in people.

Strategic thinking
A key part of the HR Manager’s job is to ensure that HR policies, strategies and practices are aligned with the company’s objectives. And this is where the role and need for strategic thinking comes in. It is one of the most important skills that allows analyzing situations and implementing the right solution that will benefit the business.

HR can use their strategic thinking and skills when they need to select new candidates to ensure they only select talented people who have the skills and potential to meet long-term business goals. They also know how to put in place strategies that will give their companies a competitive advantage by investing in the right people at the right time.

Leadership skills
HR Managers are the ones who help employees reach their potential, create solutions to problems, and guide the workforce toward the company’s success.

Good leaders also have good decision-making skills – they are able to take charge even in times of change and instability, can anticipate problems quickly before they arise, and lead by example – whether with themselves or another colleague who is their benchmark for success.

Interpersonal skills and empathy
There is no way to miss these qualities. One of the most important skills in HR is the ability to empathize with employees and manage productively. HR Managers are able to use their experience and judgment to manage a variety of relationships and personalities.

In addition, they possess emotional intelligence and excellent listening skills that allow them to respond appropriately and candidly, regardless of the circumstances or individuals with whom they must communicate. These abilities also help HR departments navigate conflict management processes.

Organizational skills
It is the turn of some of the most important skills, which often prove to be a difficult task especially if the commitments are countless. HR managers are responsible for a wide range of tasks. These include developing talent attraction strategies, creating professional development programs, developing onboarding processes, conducting performance reviews and much more.

In this engagement, they must possess a high level of organization and time management skills to help them prioritize tasks and execute them systematically-while being mindful of business needs and caring for employees.

Goodbye, Teams: Microsoft Suspends Access to Teams and Office in Europe? https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/09/04/goodbye-teams-microsoft-suspends-access-to-teams-and-office-in-europe/ Mon, 04 Sep 2023 07:26:11 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=110652 ...]]> Tech giant Microsoft will stop offering Teams app services as well as the Office suite in Europe to avoid antitrust penalties from regulators, Ap News reports.

The company also said it would take steps to make it easier for competing products to work with its software.

“Today we are announcing proactive changes that we hope will start to address these concerns in a meaningful way, even while the European Commission’s investigation continues and we cooperate with it,” Microsoft’s vice president of European government affairs, Nanna-Louise Linde, said in a blog post.

News of Microsoft’s decision comes a month after the European Union’s Executive Commission launched a formal investigation into concerns that tying Teams to Office gives the company an unfair advantage over competitors.

“We take note of Microsoft’s announcement. We have no further comment to make”, a Commission spokesperson said.

This is all due to an alert filed in 2020 by Slack Technologies, the reason for the investigation.

According to Slack, Microsoft is abusing its dominant market position to eliminate competition – in violation of EU laws – by illegally combining Teams with the Office suite, which includes Word, Excel and Outlook.

Linde also said the changes in question were made to be able to address EU concerns that customers should be able to buy Office without Teams at a lower price and that “we need to do more to facilitate interoperability” with competing communication and collaboration software.

The changes will take effect on Oct. 1 in the 30-nation European Economic Area and Switzerland.

Microsoft is not the only company under pressure from Brussels because of concerns about their market dominance. The Commission is also investigating Google, Apple, Amazon and Facebook and Instagram.

Key Programming Languages in FinTech https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/06/22/key-programming-languages-in-fintech/ Thu, 22 Jun 2023 09:23:49 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=108251 ...]]> The FinTech environment has always welcomed new technologies with open arms. Undoubtedly, software has become a major competitive advantage for FinTech companies due to the huge volume of transactions, low risk tolerance and demand for fast processing.

When selecting FinTech software, firms weigh a variety of factors including cost, scalability, potential for APIs, consistently high performance, compliance, security, and time to market. But the programming languages used most significantly influence these factors. Like anything else, programming languages have their advantages and disadvantages. Some of them improve performance, adaptability and security.

Today we’ve chosen to introduce you to key programming languages needed in the FinTech sector according to Analytics Insights.

Key Programming Languages in FinTech

Java
Being a well-known language with an extensive library of third-party components, Java is used in many Fintech systems because it facilitates the creation of complex Fintech software.

Python
Given that Python is among the most widely used programming languages, it is not surprising that it has had a dramatic impact on the Fintech sector. According to PyPI’s analysis of Google searches, Python is the most widely used programming language in the world.

Golang
Golang, commonly known as Go, is an open source programming language created by Google in 2009. It is quickly displacing other programming languages among fintech companies that need to launch soon and have a clear, scalable, and simple backend.

Ruby
Did you know that many startups in the digital finance sector use Ruby in combination with the Ruby on Rails framework for its productivity and ease of use? Some major reasons why developers prefer it are the security protections built into the framework and the simplicity of the language that saves time and money.

Scala
High-end distributed software systems used in financial products often process large amounts of data. Because it’s so productive and helps engineers shorten their source code, Scala is an excellent choice for processing them. There are at least two or three departures from Java. Additionally, the most popular Big Data frameworks that are vital to the FinTech sector have been developed using Scala.

Top Tips to Improve Developer Productivity https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/05/26/top-tips-to-improve-developer-productivity/ Fri, 26 May 2023 07:09:21 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=106850 ...]]> We all know that software developers have multiple tasks. Plus, with IT requests constantly increasing, they need every advantage they can get to find time to build new solutions. But in reality, it’s quite difficult to stay focused on work when there are equally important things that one can’t stop thinking about (like family issues, financial problems, etc.).

If you’re a developer and need a little break to recharge and be more active at work, you need to know that there are still plenty of ways to minimize distractions and improve your productivity. Today, we’re going to discuss with you some tips for improving productivity in software development.

Top Tips to Improve Developer Productivity

Minimize distractions
It’s hard enough to focus on one task for more than an hour. It’s even harder to focus if you add distractions like the internet or phone. To stay focused you need to remove items on your desk that can distract you. Also be sure to close all social media tabs (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) before work. If you find it difficult to do so, try apps that block websites to help you focus.

Arrange your desk
Keep your workspace clean and organized. If you have papers on your desk, make sure they are in folders and not scattered all over the place. If you work at home, make sure you keep your workspace clean too. Clutter can affect anxiety levels and make it harder for you to focus.

Setting realistic goals
No one wants to over-promise and under-deliver. It won’t make your team happy or productive. And it won’t help your customer relationships. Take a realistic look at what you have available and how long it will take you to accomplish it. If something isn’t urgent, don’t make it urgent by trying to get everything done at once.

Don’t multi-task
The biggest mistake any developer can make is not focusing on what they are doing. Multitasking, or trying to focus on more than one thing at a time, is a proven productivity killer. The brain is not wired to pay attention to two things at once. People who multitask are worse at filtering out irrelevant information than those who only focus on one task. Even more disturbing, multitaskers do worse at multitasking than single-taskers.

Take breaks
Remember, it’s important to take breaks at work. The Pomodoro Technique is a popular method for determining when you should take breaks. The basic idea is to take a short break after every 25 minutes of work and take a longer break after four Pomodoro (25-minute sessions). This technique helps make sure you don’t spend too much time on something that may not be productive.

ChatGPT Can Detect and Fix Source Code Bugs https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/01/30/chatgpt-can-detect-and-fix-source-code-bugs/ Mon, 30 Jan 2023 08:50:34 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=99648 ...]]> ChatGPT detects and debugs source code using standard machine learning approaches, reports Analytics Insight.

Its main advantage over other AI methods and models is its unique ability to converse with humans, allowing it to improve the correctness of answers.

“We find that ChatGPT’s bug fixing performance is competitive to the common deep learning approaches CoCoNut and Codex, and significantly better than the results reported for the standard programme repair approaches,”

the researchers write in a new arXiv paper, which New Scientist first spotted.

Although ChatGPT’s ability to solve coding problems is not new, the researchers emphasize that its unique ability to talk to people gives it a potential advantage over other approaches and models.

According to Meta’s Head of Artificial Intelligence Jan Lekun, ChatGPT is built on the Transformer architecture, which was developed by Google.

In the code debugging examples, OpenAI highlights ChatGPT’s dialog capability, where it can ask for clarifications and get hints from the human to arrive at a better answer. Reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF) was used to train the large language models that power ChatGPT (GPT-3 and GPT 3.5).

ChatGPT’s ability to discuss may help it arrive at a more correct answer, the researchers note that the quality of its suggestions is not yet known. Therefore, they want to evaluate ChatGPT’s debugging capabilities.

The implications for developers are not yet clear. ChatGPT-generated responses were recently banned from Stack Overflow due to their low-quality but plausible-sounding nature. The Wharton professor finds that ChatGPT can act as a “smart consultant” (one that produces elegant but often incorrect answers) and promote critical thinking in MBA students.
