Also in the email, users were asked to double-check that what they would be selling and sharing met the requirements, and were reminded to make the status of their GPT files “public” .

OpenAI initially revealed during its November developers conference that it would permit individuals to build AI agents, referred to as GPTs, utilizing its GPT-4 large language model.

This capability is exclusively accessible to ChatGPT Plus and enterprise subscribers, enabling users to develop personalized iterations of ChatGPT-style chatbots. These customized GPTs cover a spectrum of topics, from explaining Gen Z memes to guiding individuals through negotiation processes.

Although OpenAI’s pre-built custom GPTs can be found in the explore tab of ChatGPT Plus, the introduction of the store facilitates users in sharing and potentially monetizing their own GPT creations.

The company said that in the future it would be looking at paying GPT creators based on how much their Al-agents are used in the store. However, OpenAI has not yet disclosed the details.

The store was originally supposed to launch in November, but had to be delayed due to the drama of CEO Sam Altman’s firing.

OpenAI suspended ByteDance’s account after suspicions of abuse https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/12/19/openai-suspended-bytedance-s-account-after-suspicions-of-abuse/ Tue, 19 Dec 2023 09:21:50 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=115830 ...]]> OpenAI has taken action to suspend the TikTok parent company ByteDance’s account. This decision comes in the wake of a report revealing that ByteDance, a China-owned firm, has been clandestinely leveraging OpenAI’s “GPT” AI technology to develop its own chatbot service.

According to internal company documents cited by The Verge, ByteDance has extensively utilized OpenAI’s application programming interface (API) throughout various stages of its AI product development. The ties between ByteDance and the Chinese government have already drawn considerable attention, leading to heightened federal scrutiny of TikTok’s operations in the United States.

ByteDance’s internal initiative, labeled “Project Seed,” has been a high-priority and secretive endeavor aimed at constructing its own large-language model—an AI tool trained on vast amounts of internet data. The report indicates that ByteDance not only employed OpenAI’s “GPT” for training its model but also for evaluating the ongoing development of its ambitious project.

“All API customers must adhere to our usage policies to ensure that our technology is used for good. While ByteDance’s use of our API was minimal, we have suspended their account while we further investigate”, said OpenAI spokesperson.

“If we discover that their usage doesn’t follow these policies, we will ask them to make necessary changes or terminate their account,” the spokesperson added.

ByteDance reportedly buys its access to OpenAI’s tools through Microsoft, the AI firm’s key investor and partner. Microsoft has similar terms of service.

Engineers Claim GitHub Copilot Provides Great Productivity Benefit https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/03/07/engineers-claim-github-copilot-provides-great-productivity-benefit/ Tue, 07 Mar 2023 07:54:41 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=102609 ...]]> Cyrus Gazanfar, chief technology officer of 401(k) asset management startup Beagle, told Business Insider that his company has begun experimenting with Copilot in recent months.

He now asks his team of three engineers to use the tool because he has quickly found that it saves him a lot of time by removing routine work, also claiming that Copilot has already proved useful in creating databases.

Many databases have the same properties, such as a time frame that indicates when the data was created. According to Gazanfar, they can now use Copilot to create a database with these properties.

Bill Mears, vice president of engineering at LookDeep Health, says Copilot draws its knowledge from the large corpus of projects on GitHub, but also uses the context of the project the engineer is working on to suggest adapted code.

Although Copilot’s suggestions are accurate, you should not trust it completely. Ghazanfar advises that the developer should be careful, because sometimes they will have to go back and correct bugs when the proposed code doesn’t work.

GitHub’s CEO, Nat Friedman, also shared about the product’s shortcomings. At a recent event in San Francisco, he compared using Copilot to participating in a lottery.

Developers write their own code, and while Copilot’s suggestions are often wrong, it occasionally passively offers an answer that perfectly solves a developer’s need, Friedman said.

“Copilot will give you a very convincing answer that looks great, and that code looks great, and those API calls look great. But then it turns out that the API doesn’t even exist.”

Mers says, referring to the application programming interfaces that help applications communicate with each other.

According to experts, Copilot is prone to “hallucinations,” a term the artificial intelligence industry has adopted to describe chatbots that confidently offer completely made-up answers.

AI tools would speed up productivity as well as benefit developers, but are unlikely to completely replace the need for engineers any time soon.

Only 9% of Americans Think AI Will do More Good Than Harm https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/02/17/only-9-of-americans-think-ai-will-do-more-good-than-harm/ Fri, 17 Feb 2023 13:06:37 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=101607 ...]]> Artificial intelligence tools that can give human-like answers have suddenly become the hottest part of the tech industry, like Google and Microsoft, for example. Billion-dollar companies are racing to release early versions of search engines and productivity tools using the new technology.

The companies developing this software claim it will save hours of time and increase human creativity. But American society doesn’t think so. A new Monmouth University poll shows that only 9% of Americans believe the impact of artificial intelligence on society will do more good than harm, CNBC reports.

About 5 in 10 respondents — or 46% — think that AI development will do about the same amount of good and harm, and 41% of people in the sample believe that the technology will ultimately do harm to society overall.

More than half of Americans — 55% — are very or somewhat worried that AI could one day pose a risk to the human race, according to the poll.

Large Language Models (LLMs) are increasingly being used in generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Google’s Bard. Related models can create drawings or audio that resemble human works.

But problems arise with large language models that can simply make up information – a phenomenon known as “hallucination”. Both Google and Microsoft have shown that their software makes factual errors.

Other concerns include that advanced AI could take away people’s jobs or make some professions unnecessary. Furthermore, AI and chatbots based on it can convince people that the tools actually think and feel.

For example, 72% of people in the survey sample think AI will eventually write entire news articles, and 78% of respondents think this is a bad thing. Some AI algorithms can be used for facial recognition, for example to identify people attending sporting events. Although this practice has been criticized, a small proportion of respondents – 54% – support this type of use.

The Chatbot Wars Have Begun https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/02/13/the-chatbot-wars-have-begun/ Mon, 13 Feb 2023 11:54:51 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=101111 ...]]> This week Microsoft, Google and Chinese company Baidu showed off ChatGPT-inspired technology to reinvent web search.

This week, the world’s biggest search engine companies entered the race to use a powerful new breed of “generative artificial intelligence” algorithms.

Most notably, Microsoft announced that it is repurposing Bing, which trails Google in popularity, to use ChatGPT, the insanely popular and often surprisingly capable chatbot created by artificial intelligence startup OpenAI, Wired wrote on the topic.

The all-new Bing is equally conversational. Demonstrations the company did at its Redmond headquarters and a quick test drive by WIRED’s Aarian Marshall, who attended the event, show that it can effortlessly generate a vacation itinerary, summarize highlights from product reviews, and answer complex questions, such as whether a piece of furniture will fit in a particular car.

It’s a far cry from Microsoft’s helpless and hopeless Office Clippy assistant, which some readers may recall bothering them every time they create a new document.

Not to be outdone by Bing’s artificial intelligence reboot, Google said this week that it will launch a competitor to ChatGPT called Bard. (The name was chosen to reflect the creative nature of the algorithm that lies beneath it, says one Google employee.)

The company, like Microsoft, has shown how the underlying technology can answer some Web searches and said it will start making the artificial intelligence behind the chatbot available to developers.

Last but not least in the new AI search wars is Baidu, China’s largest online search engine company. It joined the fray by announcing another ChatGPT competitor, Wenxin Yiyan (文心一言), or “Ernie Bot” in English. Baidu says it will release the bot to the market after the completion of internal tests in March this year.

These issues could be a problem if you’re trying to use technology to make web search more useful. Microsoft has apparently fixed some common flaws with ChatGPT in Bing, but the real test will come when it becomes widely available. One of Bard’s responses, which Google proudly boasts about, incorrectly claims that the James Webb Space Telescope was the first to take a picture of a planet outside our solar system.

Will these professions be replaced by chatbots like ChatGPT? https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/01/31/will-these-professions-be-replaced-by-chatbots-like-chatgpt/ Tue, 31 Jan 2023 09:02:04 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=99766 ...]]> Chatbots and artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT, which can create increasingly sophisticated written content in a short amount of time, are now being used to perform tasks ranging from writing school assignments to generating legal documents and even creating laws, cbs news reports.

Unanswered questions…

However, technological innovations such as these leave many question marks. Will humans be replaced and will artificial intelligence take over their roles? Will the emergence of entirely new activities bring potential employment opportunities?

Digitalization and the New Time – Where do people belong?

Dynamic developments in the technological world welcome us to plunge into a new, completely different and unknown to most of us era – the digital one. But although this will bring many prospects, each of you is probably asking yourself where will humans belong among the hundreds of innovations and will artificial intelligence replace the need for human intelligence?

Here’s which professions will be replaced by chatbots like ChatGPT

Computer programming
ChatGPT can write computer code to program applications and software. It can check programmers’ language for errors and convert ideas from plain English into a programming language.

“In terms of jobs, I think it’s mostly an enhancement, not a complete job replacement. Coding and programming is a good example of that. You can actually write code pretty well”,

Columbia Business School professor Oded Netzer tells CBS MoneyWatch.

That could mean performing basic coding activities currently done by humans.

Basic email
Writing simple administrative or scheduling emails for things like setting up or canceling appointments could also easily be outsourced to a tool like ChatGPT, according to Netzer.

“There’s hardly any creativity involved, so why would we write the whole thing instead of saying to the machine, ‘I need to set a meeting on this date,'”

he said.

Mid-level writing
David Autor, an MIT economist who specializes in labor, pointed to some mid-level white-collar jobs as functions that can be handled by AI, including work like writing human resources letters, producing advertising copy and drafting press releases.

“Bots will be much more in the realm of people who do a mixture of intuitive and mundane tasks like writing basic advertising copy, first drafts of legal documents. Those are expert skills, and there is no question that software will make them cheaper and therefore devalue human labor,”

Autor said.

Media planning and buying
Creative industries are likely to be affected, too. Noted advertising executive Sir Martin Sorrell, founder of WPP, the world’s largest ad and PR group, said on a recent panel that he expects the way companies buy ad space will become automated “in a highly effective way” within five years.

“So you will not be dependent as a client on a 25-year old media planner or buyer, who has limited experience, but you’ll be able to pool the data. That’s the big change,”

he said.

Legal functions
According to artificial intelligence experts and lawyers, ChatGPT’s capabilities translate well to the legal profession. In fact, the ChatGPT bot recently took a law school exam and received a passing grade after writing essays on topics ranging from constitutional law to taxation and torts.

“The dynamic that’s going on with lawyers now is that there’s too much work that’s possibly being done, so they’re making an artificial distinction between what they’re going to work on and what’s going to be set aside,”

says Jason Boehmig, co-founder and CEO of Ironclad, a legal software company.

Common legal forms and documents, including residential leases, wills and non-disclosure agreements, are fairly standard and can be drafted by a sophisticated bot.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Used In Online Shopping Sites https://devstyler.io/blog/2021/08/16/how-artificial-intelligence-is-used-in-online-shopping-sites/ Mon, 16 Aug 2021 07:20:45 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=65981 ...]]> As artificial intelligence (AI) is developed, machine learning and deep learning combined with the rise of mobile commerce are now being used to improve the experience of shopping online. These advances are being deployed by e-commerce stores to better serve. The companies that use AI technology for product comparison, chatbots, inventory management, make online shopping more efficient and hassle-free for their customers. Check out how are they doing this in the list below.

Creating a More Efficient Sales Process

Most consumers have moved on from old sales techniques such as picking up the Yellow Pages and calling cold to old sales tactics such as A wide range of media, including TV ads and social media, strongly influence the lives of customers nowadays. In the past year, Snapchat has increasingly become a viable sales and marketing tool. The best way to tailor your solution to a consumer’s needs and create a message that reaches them is to integrate AI into your CRM. There are a number of AI systems available that enable natural language learning and voice input, such as Siri, Alexa, etc. An effective CRM system can handle customer queries and provide solutions to their problems. It may even identify further opportunities for sales teams. In some AI-powered CRM systems, you can also multitask these functions on top of others.

Personalization of Online Purchases

The use of artificial intelligence in eCommerce allows shoppers to make more informed buying decisions. By integrating AI into their systems, companies can run real-time analyses on customers and develop specialized shopping experiences that are reliable and impressive. The clients who need specific products, such as clothing, furniture, appliances, and musical instruments, even items that are difficult to find. An AI could suggest products that are suitable for a user based on their preferences. By analyzing clicks, shopping carts, purchase histories, and search queries, AI can play a huge part in predicting customer behaviour in an online environment. eCommerce brands can use all of these to provide suitable suggestions for additional purchases that are in line with the user’s own preferences.

Fighting Fake Reviews

Reviewers played an important role in helping people make purchases in the past, and still play an important role in today’s world. 90% of people regularly read online reviews, and 87% believe that they are just as trustworthy as other forms of communication. However, there is a growing sceptical element in the population. In the wake of last year’s controversies over fake content, customers have changed the way they look at the information they find online, even if it looks like it’s. It is inconceivable that the media have ever been as aggressive in their pursuit of truth as they are. A large volume of user-generated content can now be analyzed by artificial intelligence. An analytical algorithm was used to analyze 25,000 reviews of hotels that were found across the web and analyzed with machine learning. Since more real reviews than fake ones dominate, customers can see the truth because there is always more truth than fiction. The online shops can utilize this engine so that they can draw on the public opinion already expressed on the web, rather than inviting fake reviews.

Chatbots

You may need to wait a long time to get answers to your queries as a customer. Artificial intelligence can assist with this task by using algorithms to train machines to act as chatbots that provide assistance to customers. It is possible to use a machine to answer FAQs, take orders, and track them. Natural language processing (NLP) is used to teach chatbots to imitate the conversational styles of customer service representatives. With advanced chatbots, you no longer need to provide specific formatted inputs. It is possible for them to answer complex questions that require Artificial intelligence will give the appearance of a customer representative when, in fact, they are simply another form. In the event that you give a bad rating for the response, the bot will identify the mistake it made and correct it the next time

Visual Search

Clients are able to find products faster with AI technology, which is one of the biggest openings for eCommerce. A chatbot can be developed to assist, or there is the possibility of building a more semantic text search, but the most promising application of visual search is It is beneficial to all parties. A business can drastically shorten the customer journey culminating in the checkout process by allowing customers to immediately find what they want.

Inventory Management and Sales Forecasting

A store’s inventory management can lead to many headaches and even to the downfall of the company. US companies admit they don’t track their inventory in 46% of cases, but they are tied up with more than $1 trillion of capital in other types of A surplus of stock is a loss for your company. A low stock level means that you might lose the kind of seesaw that everyone who operates an eCommerce business has grappled with has had to contend Stock management can snatch the rug from under your feet, regardless of whether you have overstock or an understock. Using manual methods will make it hard or impossible to predict sales accurately. In the end, we have difficulty funding our operations. By incorporating AI into your forecasting process, you become more precise in anticipating future demands. Having this information allows you to manage your supply chain more effectively and learn more about your customers. The result is that shrinkage is reduced, and you receive time and money savings.

What Are The Main Challenges For Fintech? https://devstyler.io/blog/2021/06/29/what-are-the-main-challenges-for-fintech/ Tue, 29 Jun 2021 15:13:09 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=56775 ...]]> Fintech is a modern and disrupting industry. And banks are one of the most conservative and traditional institutions. For fintech to be the future of banking there are important challenges to face.

  • Improving security to missile-proof level. Yes, customers’ data, identities, and money are not a minor thing, and they are at risk with every login or transaction. Security bullet-proof is not enough. Hackers won’t quit, but clear and legal guarantees and better security must be offered to clients. If crimes like stealing sensitive data, frauds derived from the malicious use of such data, stealing of money, etc. keep affecting customers, it will be hard to make them jump on-board a digital-only bank. Especially the older generations.
  • Getting customers’ trust. Disruptive technology is not easy to digest. Especially when your pension, savings, and money in general, is at risk. Security in the terms we described is totally necessary for customers to trust. To accept technology requires to be trained on it and to clearly understand it; How does it work? What risks do I face? How can I protect myself to avoid risks? What kind of guarantees do I have? Customers rely a lot on the face-to-face interaction at banks; making them accept the transition to banks where everything is managed through computers, smartphones, applications, robots, chatbots, codes, passwords, clicks etc won’t be easy without offering proper guarantees of protection, legal regulation. Not only financial institutions but also governments must be involved.
  • Customers’ experience. A transparent, comfortable, and friendly online experience must be offered to customers. Clear guidance must be included to execute the different bank processes customers need. Technology is astonishing. No doubt almost everything can be done through it. But there is a human factor involved that should not be forgotten. Not all customers manage digital tools with the same proficiency level. There should be ways to make them feel protected, supported. It can be really frustrating to try to solve a problem with a bot that just repeats pre-programmed answers.
