interactive – Devstyler.io https://devstyler.io News for developers from tech to lifestyle Thu, 08 Feb 2024 12:07:06 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.5.5 Americans with Doubts: Brands Misuse Their Personal Data https://devstyler.io/blog/2024/02/08/americans-with-doubts-brands-misuse-their-personal-data/ Thu, 08 Feb 2024 12:07:06 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=118301 ...]]> Attest, a consumer research platform, found that 84% of americans are concerned about privacy when interacting with brands online, MarketingTech reported.

Among survey respondents, those between the ages of 55 and 64 were the most concerned (87%).

Surprising results indicate that even members of Generation Z experience a dose of worry when brands turnover data online. 82% of consumers between the ages of 18-24 said they are concerned about the way brands collect information about them.

Now that cookie-free third-party marketing is almost here, a new research report released today shows that the overwhelming majority of Americans don’t trust a single brand when it comes to protecting their privacy.

Consumers still refrain from sharing data online

The Zero-Party Data Revolution report reveals that eight in ten (85%) consumers opt out of being added to a company’s mailing list at least in some cases, and 58% say it’s common for them to decline such offers in most cases.

Survey data also shows that almost a third of users (31%) would reject cookies on websites if asked.

Users who reject cookies are most likely to do so because they don’t want to be inundated with ads afterwards, and because they don’t trust the website in question with their data (both 36%).

At the same time, 27% of respondents fear that hackers will steal their data.

Again surprisingly, 52% of Generation Z members indicated that they do not trust websites to keep their data private.

Likelihood to opt-out of first-party cookies by website type:

 • Social media websites: 47%
 • Travel websites: 42%
 • Food and beverage websites: 40%
 • Financial services and retail websites: Both at 39%

If you take into account the fact that zero-country data involves explicitly requesting information from users, this is done through interactive data collection methods.

Attest attempted to discover which methods users preferred most, finding that:

Interactive surveys topped the poll: 47% of respondents said interactive surveys were their preferred way for a brand to collect data about them, followed by loyalty cards (i.e. purchase history), and 27% liked online forms. Cookies and chat services/chatbots to talk to customers are at the bottom of preferences (18% each).

Popular with all groups: Consumers who need information to benefit from it:Consumer surveys are the most popular method of data collection across all age groups: 66% of consumers aged 18-24 say they prefer them, as do 41% of those aged 55-64.

The Zero-Party Data Revolution report surveyed 1,500 nationally representative U.S. consumers, and the survey coincides with the dropping of third-party cookies in Google Chrome this year, marking one of the biggest changes in digital advertising since the invention of cookies in 1992.

Attest’s report aims to enable marketers to understand why this change represents a transformative chance to use an alternative data source – zero-party data – to continue to reach target audiences, regain trust and create ads that are compelling, not invasive.

Uno Platform Add to Figma Advanced Features for Developers https://devstyler.io/blog/2023/05/02/uno-platform-add-to-figma-advanced-features-for-developers/ Tue, 02 May 2023 06:03:44 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=105647 ...]]> Uno Platform has released Preview 5 of its Figma plugin, which offers enhanced features for designers and developers, Infoq reports. The latest version allows the creation of custom colors by removing color constraints, and enables the import of design system packages (DSPs) to share design system information across tools and projects.

New controls such as Pips Pager and TabBar with vertical orientation, as well as the ItemsRepeater feature, offer even more flexibility to create interactive designs. The Uno platform also introduced new features that provide users with greater flexibility in managing the themes and colors of their applications. These features enable the visual appearance of apps to be customized, resulting in a personalized and visual user experience.

The feature to look out for is the import of the Design System Package (DSP), which allows users to create and save custom color palettes for materials that can be easily imported into the Uno Figma plugin to quickly change the theme of the application. This feature streamlines the process of applying consistent colors across different designs and layouts, and provides greater control and flexibility in applying color to application designs.

Uno Platform has added a custom color feature. This feature removes restrictions on the number of colors used in a design and allows designers and developers to create colors that meet their specific requirements.

Preview 5 also offers two important updates to the image preview and display features. The image placeholder has been enhanced to help designers create more accurate visual representations of their designs, and the need to modify images in a randomly generated preview image from the plugin has been removed. That is, images will now appear in the plugin exactly as they appear in the Figma file.

Disney Is About To Project 3-D Images https://devstyler.io/blog/2022/01/10/disney-is-about-to-project-3-d-images/ Mon, 10 Jan 2022 14:53:08 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=78533 ...]]> The U.S. Patent Office gave a permission to Walt Disney Co. for projecting moving 3-D images on real-world objects whose aim is to interact with the visitors of the team park.

However, 3-D projectors are already used by The Burbank for casting moving images on sprays of water in the light shows “World of Color” and “Fantasmic” in Disney California Adventureland Disneyland.

The technology will be no available for a large audience. It will be geared for a small group of people around the parks. It will project images individually for them on objects, buildings and walls placed nearby the visitors. Special gadgets such as goggles or headset will not be necessary for seeing those images.

According to the patent, the secret of this technology is hiding behind peoples’ smart devices such as their smartphones. Their tracking information will be transferred to a computer and will be connected to devices located all over the park. Soon, after locating the visitors, the simulator will project an Image of a Disney character in front of the guests which will give the opportunity for people to even hear their voices. A spokesperson from Disney said:

“We are excited about the possibilities related to this type of technology.”

They also added that no current plans for introducing this technology into an upcoming experience are composed yet.

Qwik – A Resumable Javascript Framework https://devstyler.io/blog/2021/10/12/qwik-a-resumable-javascript-framework/ Tue, 12 Oct 2021 09:10:55 +0000 https://devstyler.io/?p=73144 ...]]> Qwik is a DOM-centric JavaScript framework that aims to provide the quickest TTI (or “time to interactive”) by focusing on resumability for server-side rendering of HTML and optimized lazy loading of code.

With the growth of size and complexity of single-page applications, the initial load time of websites has been steadily growing. This can be especially problematic for consumer-facing sites where long load times can lead to lost customers.

The majority of JavaScript frameworks rely on an initial bootstrap process that requires a large amount of code to be downloaded and executed before the browser can render the page.

Many JavaScript frameworks do support server-side rendering to ease the initial load by rendering a snapshot of the site on the server. However, to rehydrate or make the page interactive, two expensive steps need to take place:

Both the framework and the application (JavaScript) need to be downloaded, a process that can be quite long.

The page itself needs to be initialized within the JavaScript framework in order for the JavaScript events to become active.

Qwik uses asynchronous, out-of-order component hydration to ensure that the first interaction can happen much quicker. This means that Qwik will lazy load and render only the components that are needed.

After Qwik pre-renders the application on the server, it will determine that the only interactive element is myButton and will only download/re-render it. The rest of the components are static, so Qwik avoids the extra effort of downloading and rendering them.

QRL or “Qwik Resource Locator is the syntax Qwik uses in order to connect resources. In our example, on:click will contain the path (filename + function name), and Qwik could determine the exact code required for the button click operation.

On the client-side, the process is managed through qwikloader, a tiny (<1k) library that orchestrates loading the necessary code and connecting it to the right events.
