What you’ll experience in this opportunity
We are looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer to become responsible for a healthy day to day operation of our Cloud Engineering team with talented team members spread across 3 locations in Europe: Sofia,
Amsterdam and London.
The team is responsible for design, implementation, integration, automation and maintenance of our
Cloud based SaaS and R&D infrastructure. By partnering up with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP), the team delivers and maintains a reliable, secure, scalable and extensible platform that enables the
developers to simply, safely and rapidly deploy new valuable service components and later scale out to any size – or discard the idea and move on to the next one.
Chef, Terraform, Kubernetes form the base, whilst it’s the team’s expertise and curiosity that drives
innovation to make the picture complete. Everything is code and is treated accordingly – Quality and
Operational standards apply. Team delivers building blocks and helps connecting them together – or
prototypes using the available managed services according to the industry standards. All new and existing infrastructure components are supported throughout their life cycle.
The role implies strong, effective inspirational technical leadership to the geo-spread team promoting
collaboration and transparency. Pro-active knowledge sharing and training of individual team members as well as predictable delivery management comprise the main contribution. The Lead Cloud Engineer
eventually becomes an expert of the entire SaaS deployment and helps resolve complex issues, advises
technical leadership team on design and architecture decisions and responds well to a dynamic
environment changes.
Key responsibilities
- Technical leadership for the Cloud Engineering strategy, driving and supporting reshaping our Cloud based SaaS delivery platform
- Take responsibility for the Agile execution and delivery of contributions to complex technical projects
- Define Cloud infrastructure architectural vision and provide leadership for teams
- Support the team on execution of their tasks and share knowledge with them pro-actively
- Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of system development in cloud environments, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
