Stilride may be starting out by producing an electric motorcycle, but the company clearly has aspirations that are literally out of this world.

said Stilride co-founder and CEO Jonas Nvyang.

Thanks to a partnership announced today with French-Swedish robotics company Adaxis, the company will no longer need to source components, including hinges, fenders, and side covers, from outside suppliers.

“Not only will their technology improve the sustainability, speed, and cost-efficiency of producing the SUS1, but it will also help us reach our ultimate goal of rolling out a fully distributed production model where the construction of our products can be fully automated, powered by robotics technology.”

Not only does this mean Stilride will be able to manufacture a number of these parts in-house, with Adaxis’ software allowing engineers to program a robotic arm to quickly 3D print large and complex parts, but it will also significantly reduce costs and material wastage, as well as possibly increasing quality control.

Back in the late 1990s, Polestar was behind some of the most key motorsport competitors. It has applied some of this learning to its new EV. The upgrade is available for Long-range and Dual Motor models in the UK. It is undoubtedly quite popular, especially with having 400 upgrades downloaded in its first few weeks of availability.

The Polestar’s CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, says:

“The upgrade highlights how connected technologies can transform the relationship a car company has with its customers. The driving experience in Polestar 2 is something we are really proud of. It is such a fun car to drive already, but with this upgrade, we can offer even more to our customers who might be after a little extra excitement.”

With the upgrade, the Polestar 2’s dual-motor powertrain is increased in power by 50kW to a total of 350kW, while torque rises by 20Nm to 680Nm. As a result, accelerating from 50 to 74mph takes just 2.2 seconds – half a second quicker than the standard car. The 0-60mph sprint takes just 4.2 seconds, too.

It is priced ‘on average’ around €1,000, with ‘local variances in certain markets’. The update will be available in the Polestar Extras webshop as a software download. It will be remotely delivered to the owner’s vehicle via an over-the-air update.

Polestar has been trickling out teasers and a few details of its Precept sedan, including a couple of YouTube videos. They are meant to give an inside look at the entire design, development and presumably the production process. Polestar’s newest video focuses on what inspired the exterior design.

Nahum Escobedo, the exterior design manager of the Precept said in the video:

“For this project we also wanted something that was very elegant, but also something that has a certain speed. So for me, the shark had this certain feeling.”

The dramatic rear end of the Polestar 5 shows the long aero blade light, another early design feature that appears to be sticking around for the production version.
