Salesforce is joining other Silicon Valley tech giants in announcing a substantial shift in how it allows its employees to work. In a blog post published on Salesforce page, the company says the “9-to-5 workday is dead” and that it will allow employees to choose one of three categories:

  • Flex – When it’s safe to return to the office, most of their employees will be in the office 1-3 days per week for team collaboration, meetings, etc.
  • Fully Remote – Employees with roles that allow them to work from home, will work remotely full-time.
  • Office-based – The smallest population of the Salesforce team will work from office 4-5 days per week if their roles require so.

This new model will unlock greater equality and new growth opportunities. Salesforce employees will be able to widespread their communities and geographies without any boundaries of the workplace. The flexible schedules will allow everyone to build a new and more convenient lifestyle because workers need flexibility to be successful!

In the meantime, employers have to be aware that they need to put more effort into keeping their culture and cultivating an environment of inclusion, belonging, and equality. The company added:

“This isn’t just the future of work, this is the next evolution of our culture.”

Salesforce real estate has always been more than architecture and design. Their goal is to create a place with a lasting positive impact on the employees, partners, customers, communities and environment. The new remote-style method enabled Salesforce to create an office of the future with hubs that will accommodate a more hybrid workstyle for collaboration. In that way, they will foster the human connection which cannot be replicated remotely.

Vaccine management and distribution is another new and complex challenge, raising consequential questions about privacy, equity and trust. Salesforce created a task force to work through a global vaccine management plan. They will continue to prioritize employee health, safety and wellbeing by combining the strength of their values, their virtual platform and people to create a better workplace, whether in-person or in the cloud.
