AWS today announced the launch of its second infrastructure region in India – Asia Pacific.
Starting today, developers, startups, entrepreneurs and enterprises, as well as government, education and not-for-profit organizations, will have more choice to run their applications and serve end users from data centers located in India. Customers will have access to advanced AWS technologies to drive innovation, including data analytics, security, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).

Customers and partners in India will now have additional regional infrastructure to deploy applications with greater resilience, availability and even lower latency. AWS plans to invest approximately $4.4 billion (about INR 36,300 crore) in India by 2030 through AWS’ new Asia Pacific Region (Hyderabad), which includes capital expenditure for data centre build-out, operational costs related to ongoing utilities and facilities costs, and purchases of goods and services from regional enterprises.
