The 2021 edition of one of the most popular hackathons Hack TUES started yesterday with an official ceremony. For the first time, this event was held in an entirely online format. The participants got acquainted with the topic “Develop for the environment”.

DevStyleR has the pleasure to be a media partner of Hack TUES, which is organized by students – for students. The business has taken a serious look because this school is full of talent and its graduates are among the most valued professionals in the IT sector.

The opening started with Niya Markova and Ioan Djelekarski – students from 11th grade and some of the organizers of the hackathon. The hosts highlighted:

” The teams have 2 days to develop their projects. The final version must be submitted before 8:00 AM on Sunday.”

The ceremony, albeit digitally, was attended by the Minister of Education of Bulgaria, Krassimir Valchev. After that, the director of TUES Assoc. Prof. Dr Stella Stefanova, made a speech and greeted all the participants, the organisers and the sponsors of this slightly different event.

After the speeches, Gergana Uzunova, who is part of the organization of Hack TUES, presented three speakers who discussed the important directions of the topics of the hackathon: Magdalena Maleeva, founder of Gorichka.bg, Apostol Dyankov, representative of JA Bulgaria and Kostadin Andonov, representative of WWF Bulgaria.

The theme of this issue of Hack TUES is entirely related to ecology and the ecological and natural solutions that humanity desperately needs. “Develop for the environment” will allow students to unleash their technological, innovative and creative thinking in four subcategories:

  • Code red – prevention of fires, reduction of harmful emissions and prevention of global warming
  • Deep in the blue – protection and purification of water pools. Flood prevention
  • Browny soil – Soil contamination
  • Palette nature – Problems with biodiversity.

Hack TUES GG began and we can’t wait to see what solutions will be made in the name of the planet Earth!
