Harness, an advanced software delivery platform that enables engineers and DevOps to create, test, deploy and verify software on demand, has acquired intellectual property and technology from Armory, a CD-ROM company.

With the acquisition, Harness aims to expand its capabilities in this area to improve developer performance as well as for greater productivity.

“We are extremely excited as this will further enable Harness to provide the best-in-class advanced software delivery platform in the industry. This acquisition is a testament to our commitment to the developer community and to simplifying and improving the developer experience,” said Harness CEO, Jyoti Bansal.

Armory’s CD platform is built on the open source Spinnaker project, a multi-cloud continuous delivery platform that can be used for high-speed deployment.

“Harness has a great reputation for providing world-class support to its customers, and I am confident in their ability to support us during this transition. I look forward to developing a potential partnership with the Harness team”, said Wei Li, Member of Technical Staff, Pure Storage.

Armory customers will experience a seamless transition as key Armory engineering and customer support roles are joining Harness to continue supporting existing implementations. The Harness team has assured the Armory install base that maintaining business continuity is of the utmost importance, and has already begun partnering with Armory’s customers.
