Lower-back pain is probably the most common problem suffered by IT professionals. The problem lies in wrong posture and the inability to take frequent breaks during work. Studies found that almost 80% of people who spend more than 8 hours in front of a computer may have great stress in bony joints and cartilages of the back leading to back pain.
On a long run, continuous stress and strain on the bones and ligaments may lead to structural changes in the back and consequently chronic back pain.
Another common health problem in IT professionals is the neck pain which might later develop into neck sickness. Wrong posture is not the only thing that can cause neck pain. Situating the phone between our ears and arms for long periods of time also triggers neck problems. A research reported that 30% of the musculoskeletal problems of the IT professionals are of neck pain.
