Excitel is “Uber for broadband” in emerging markets. It provides household Internet connectivity through an ecosystem of thousands of small partner companies, based on a common proprietary technology platform. The model has proven itself in India where Excitel entered the top 10 providers, acquiring over 800,000 users in 7 years.

Excitel was founded in 2015 by the serial entrepreneurs and pioneers of the Bulgarian Internet connectivity, Victor Francess and Nikolay Gorchilov, founders of Orbitel, and Plamen Petkov from Networx Bulgaria.

The company has raised 3 rounds of funding for a total of 16 million euro so far. The last round was finalised at the end of 2021 and is worth 10 million euro. The company has reached financial sustainability.

Entirely in Bulgaria is located the software team that develops products for the company’s own use. Quality is a high priority, also of importance are the well-structured way of work and writing clearly readable code. Key products are:

• Workforce management – software for managing the work of employees (tradespeople, field technicians, etc.);
• Self-care apps – mobile applications for self-diagnosis and customer communication with the customer service center;
